Out of Bounds Weekend Wraps Up With 26TRIX Final
No one had a better time at the Out of Bounds weekend than Jamie Goldman, who took home first place in the bunnyhop contest and the 26TRIX! The racers are probably glad that he didn’t have time to enter the Top 2 Bottom Terminator! After an amazing Caribbean Party for all of the Out Of Bounds weekend guests on Saturday night, the fun continued into the final two runs of the 26TRIX finals on Sunday. Riders were anxious to get more time on the well-built dirt jump course, and they began to ride three hours before the finals, just so they could enjoy riding their bikes on such a good dirt jump course. Andreu Lacondeguy had a lot of work ahead of him in the second two runs, as he used his first two runs on Saturday to lock down his double backflip. He would have to come through with two consistent, solid runs to make it onto the podium. With the double backflip out of his system, Andreu was able to bring out the rest of his tricks on the 26TRIX course like no-handed flips, stretched out supermans, extended nofooted cans and a tuck no-hander on the step down, as well as a 360 nosedive at the final jump. He came out with two strong runs with good style and was rewarded for his efforts with 2nd place! Jamie Goldman was comfortably sitting in the top spot after Saturday’s final runs, where he pulled a 360, a 360-opposite, a nofooted can, a backflip on the step-down, 360 on the hip, flip over the pool gap and another flip on the last jump. Knowing that he cannot place much better than on day one, Goldman decided to put on a show on Sunday for the Leogang spectators that came to watch the last round of the 26TRIX. Darren Pokoj had to pull out some extra moves on Sunday in order to end up with a better result. He was the only rider that took the transfer after the first jump. Darren inaugurated the new line of the 26TRIX course and he was the only rider that rode thru that technical line. The Australian even jumped a 360 nosedive in the line and he showed again that he has a total different style of riding. He rode smooth thru the whole run and finished with 3rd place. The surprise of the day came from Aze Etzold from Germany. He was one of the few riders running a full-face helmet, and today everyone found out why. Aze’s first run today started off normal, but when he got to the second jump, he began to twist and spin in the air. No one knew what was happening until he landed his 360-backflip smooth as glass. He rode away victorious while the entire crowd (riders included) stood in awe of what had just happened. The Out Of Bounds weekend wrapped up with the prize giving ceremony on the dirt jump course, where Jamie, Andreu and Darren were given super-sized checks for 3,500, 2,000 and 1,000 euros. Jamie Goldman was extremely happy to end the weekend with two wins and made sure that everyone knew by screaming, jumping up and down, and lifting his bike over his head when he made it to the top of the podium! The Out Of Bounds weekend ends on another high note, with the level of riding once again getting pushed to a new level. Double flips, Front flips and 360-backflips were thrown down on the biggest mountain bike dirt jumps, Kona bikes were handed out to the Terminator winners and another great weekend of bike riding is in the books! 26TRIX Final Results: 1. Jamie Goldman 2. Andreu Lacondeguy 3. Darren Pokoj 4. Trond Hansen 5. Lluis Lacondeguy For further information about Leogang please visit www.bikepark-leogang.com
